We are producing Black Hereford Genetics for the future and we really like to talk to people who want to know more about the "Black Hereford Breed" known as the "Color You Can Count On". By using a registered Black Hereford bull on a set of black commercial cows, you can eliminate red baldie calves. Almost all sale barns in America will pull red and red baldie calves off a set of calves from the same herd and sell the blacks and black baldie calves for more money. Red Herefords and red baldie calves will generally sell a 5 to 15 cents per pound discount (as noted on the American Black Hereford Association web site). Black Hereford Genetics will make an excellent outcross to make your next set of feeder cattle. They are quiet, fast growing cattle and have great Carcass Quality. The Calves are vigorous at birth, get up and get to momma for the first meal in no time. The Bulls are great breeders and have great feet and leg structure to get around any terrain.
